The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Award in Management will provide the key knowledge, skills and attitudes that are required in managing themselves, working with others, supervising their teams, solving problems and make those tough everyday decisions.
The Programme can be tailored to meet the needs of Managers and Supervisors from your Organisation, your sector and in line with the marketplace you operate in. As an example.
The topics include:
- Understanding and managing yourself
- Understanding and managing your organisation
- Using interpersonal relationships to affect managerial performance
- Developing and leading a successful team
- Communication in management
- Making professional presentations
Following the Programme, the Manager will be able to do the following:
- Use appropriate behaviours in multiple leadership situations
- Have greater self awareness and self management
- Give feedback in the appropriate manner and time
- Understand and manage business purpose, stakeholders, structures and KPIs
- Communicate effectively in a range of business formats
- Plan and deliver professional presentations
- Develop, lead and motivate an effective team to achieve business goals
- Coach employees to improve personal performance
The Programme will be made take approx 6 months and will be made up of:
- 6 facilitated workshops and tutorials
- Ongoing support with Continuous Professional Development
- 3 Assessments of Management knowledge and Skills. Methods include written assignment and assessor led professional discussion and observation
- Virtual Learning Platform to access online resources
- Opportunities to network with like minded people sharing good practice and understanding how others do things in their organisations
- A presentation day where members will present and learn from each other on a range of Leadership and Management topics.
