Cooltherm Case study

Barclays Business, the small business arm of the global financial services provider today announced backing for Leeds based customer Cooltherm Installation Services Ltd.

Established in 1998, Cooltherm Installation Services Ltd is based at Chestnut Court, Garforth, Leeds.

The company is a specialist contractor primarily within the food processing industry and designs, supplies and installs chillers, freezers, process cooling and cold stores as well as a range of blast cooling/freezing equipment, air conditioning and water chilling units.

They also have a high quality service and preventative maintenance division which can often improve performance and extend the life of existing refrigeration installations. After a number of years successful trading, the recession hit Cooltherm hard in line with many other businesses.

Kevin Barratt, Managing Director of Cooltherm Installation Services Ltd commented: “This was a challenging time for us and everyone involved with the business. We put together a turnaround plan and took it to Barclays who supported us through a tough trading period.

Barclays also introduced us to Krys Szokalo of the Ice Partnership. Krys helped us to review the business and put together a strategic plan to grow the business organically. Profits have now been restored and we’re looking to expand the business over the next few years with the continued support of Barclays Business, who are an integral part of our future growth plans. We will shortly be looking to expand our workforce with new staff to join our skilled and enthusiastic team.”
